On Thursday night, PopUp Painting launched at Wildwood in Newmarket. PopUp Painting’s events are ’social painting and wine experiences’, with a glass of wine in one hand and a paintbrush in the other.
Now in its ninth year and fifty-five thousand guests later, PopUp Painting runs ‘painting and wine’ events in bars, restaurants and workplaces across the UK. Its events are led by artists, who guide guests – almost all of whom have never painted before – step by step through iconic pieces, while they “drink, paint and create”.
The company launched in Newmarket at Wildwood, and will soon be launching in Cambridge at The Station Tavern, with more venues across Suffolk and Cambridgeshire coming onboard soon.
Commenting on the launch, CoFounder Gareth Lewis Shelton said: “It’s really great to be expanding the business again after COVID. After so many months locked away from each other, people are delighted to be able to get out of the house, down to a pub or restaurant, and do something social and a little bit different”
“It’s amazing what anybody can create with a little guidance and encouragement”
