Ancoats
Ancoats is a gorgeous canal neighbourhood with galleries, bars, restaurants and markets. Due to his big Italian population it used to be known as little Italy so expect lots of good pizza and pasta – yum! You can easily lose hours exploring this area. Once you’ve finished exploring Ancoats, make a trip to the other side the canals to New Islington to find even more independent bars and cafes.
Mackie Mayor
Mackie Major is a huge Grade II Listed building converted into a huge food and drink market. This is a great place to take a date or have a night out with friends. Eat and drink from some of the finest local businesses in a breathtaking setting. Find out more about the food market here.

Vinyl Exchange
Manchester is known for its record shops – one of our suggestions would be is to plan an afternoon working your way through them looking for those musical gems. However, if you’re short for time, Vinyl Exchange is one of the many recommended ones, the shop opened back in 1988 and has been providing Manchester with one of the best Vinyl selections since.
Seven Bro7hers
A Manchester beer brewery that was started by 7 brothers – now with a few micro-breweries scattered across the city. Many of their brews are award winning and the bars always have a great atmosphere. However, If you happen to be more of a gin person, you can check our their sister(s) company, Four Sis4ers.

Chetham’s
Set in the city centre is one of Manchester’s most breathtaking library, Chetham’s. Chetham’s was founded in 1653 and is the oldest surviving English speaking language in the world. The beautiful building is filled with ancient books and dark panelled rooms – make sure you plan a visit to this building and get lost in history for a few hours.
