PopUp Painting has been holding events in Birmingham for many years now, and we absolutely love it! The list goes on with our favourite things to do, but we’ve narrowed it down to our top 5 things to do in Birmingham.
Brindleyplace
Aesthetically, this is one of Birmingham’s most beautiful areas – with its canals and treelined squares. In addition to this, it is moments away from Arena Birmingham, ICC, the Symphony Hall and many smaller galleries and venues. The area is filled to the brim with restaurants and bars which makes this a must see for any Birmingham visitor. Find out more here.
Botanical Gardens
The gardens are a 15 acre garden situated in Edgbaston. There are four glasshouses which range from tropical rainforests to Arid climates. Along with the grounds being breathtakingly beautiful, the gardens put on an array of entertainment and activities throughout the year such as workshops, tours and music. Find out more here.
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery first opened back in 1885 and plays host to 40 galleries featuring a a range of art, history and more – you could easily lose a day exploring all the rooms. In addition to this there are often live events to watch and one mustn’t miss out on having a refreshment in the Edwardian tea rooms.
See a gig at the Hare and Hounds
Not only does this building host a fantastic cosy pub, but it has two gig venues – so there’s always plenty to see here! The Grade Listed building actually hosted UB40’s first ever gig back in 1979. If live music isn’t your thing there are quizzes, comedy workshops and more. Find out more here.
The Custard Factory
A restored Victorian Factory which has been transformed into a hub for creatives. The building is filled with galleries, bars, independent shops, art studios and the Mockingbird Cinema. There are also tons of events taking place so make sure you have a look at what’s on before before visiting.
