As you may have heard, PopUp Painting launched their first ever online event last week! We had a brilliant time, and will be doing this twice a week for the foreseeable future. In celebration of this, we thought we’d compile a list of the best events to get involved in when you’re self-isolating.
Theatre
There are many theatre companies that are streaming entire plays for free. This is a great opportunity to get dressed and ‘go to the theatre’ for an evening.
Andrew Lloyd Webber – The Shows Must Go On! – Every Friday at 7pm BST on YouTube there will be a free live stream of his most popular musicals. You can find the streams here.
The National Theatre Live – And Thursday’s will be sorted from now on, 7pm BST they will be streaming a range of brilliant plays from One Man, Two Guvnors to Jane Eyre. You can find their Youtube channel here.
Open University Free Online Courses
Why not learn a new skill during your time in? The Open University has tons of free courses from business studies to learning about the arts. To see the whole list go here.
Fitness Classes
Many Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers are doing classes online at the moment in exchange for donations. This is a great opportunity to support some industries that have been affected by this pandemic and get fit. We recommend Holly Russo’s 30 Minute Fitness Classes which are on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Noon BST.
Craft Markets
SoLo Craft Fair are putting on a Craft Market every Saturday 12-2pm BST on their Instagram Stories. Tune in to browse the creations of over 150 makers and artists from across the world. Support small creative businesses from the comfort of your own home.
Walking Tours
Miss wandering around the streets of the city? Try an Online Walking Tour – there are a few available from as little as £5. We recommend The Jack The Ripper Virtual Tour and Games which is on daily at 7pm and 9pm.
PopUp Painting Live
We imagine many of you are missing unleashing creativity, so the good news is that we’re bringing you not one, but two PopUp Painting events online every week!
