The kids may be going back to school, but this doesn’t mean the fun has to end! Here’s a list of some of the best things going on this September in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

London

1st – 30th September – Totally Thames Festival– A month long annual festival which celebrates the River Thames with a diverse line up of events, from Tango dancing and concerts! Various prices and locations.

6th September – Paint Street Art – Join PopUp Painting to recreate a Banksy inspired painting, no previous experience needed! Tickets £29.99, book in advance, Davy’s, E14 4DH

10th September – 22nd September – Open Studios at The Pink Shop – Original artwork by Lorraine Benton, Dorienne Carmel, Charlotte Ellinas, Hilary Kidd and Claire Pinney will be on display in The Pink Shop. Meet the artists on 13th September at 5pm. Free, The Pink Shop, EN5 5XP

26th September – Park it in the Market – Vintage cakes, delicious food and live music all under one roof. Free, Greenwich Market, SE10 9HZ

28th September – SoLo Craft Fair: Balham Autumn Market – SoLo Craft Fair will be returning to the beautiful Balham Bowls Club along with 30 indie makers selling everything from art to homeware to jewellery. Free Entry, Balham Bowls Club, SW12 8QX

Birmingham

7th September – Ale & Cider Festival – Spend the day in the picturesque grounds of Blakesley Hall and sample ales and ciders from a host of local brewers. £6, Blakesley Hall, B25 8RN

13th September – Street Food Fridays – A great place to grab dinner on a Friday night, with different food traders every week. Rowheath Pavilion, B30 1HH

22nd September – Greek Festival– A celebration of Greek culture. There will be free cultural activities for the whole family, music and food and drink. Free, John Henry Newman Catholic College, B37 5GA

Manchester

7th September – Fields of Gold Festival – Celebrating the best of Manchester’s music scene with tribute bands. You’ll be dancing to the likes of Oasis, Stone Roses and The Smiths. Tickets £25, book in advance, Ashton Cricket Club, OL7 0AU

21st September – Oktoberfest – Bringing the Munich to Manchester, Oktoberfest will be bringing the best of beer and music to one place! Tickets from £11, buy in advance, Albert Hall, M2 5QR

27th & 28th September – Manchester Gin Festival – There will be over 120 gins on offer, live entertainment and street food! Tickets £12.50, book in advance, Manchester Cathedral, M3 1SX

Leeds

13th – 21st September – Saltaire Festival – A celebration of art, community and the village’s unique history this festival takes place over 10 days with exhibitions, markets and comedy. Various events and locations across Saltaire.

13th – 22nd September – Hertitage Open Days – Visit some of Leeds most beautiful sites for free as they open up their doors to everyone. Free, Various times and dates.

28th September – Paint Monet – Try you hand at painting Monet’s iconic Poppy Fields while sipping on a glass of wine, no previous painting experience needed! Tickets £29.99, book in advance, Brasserie Blanc, LS1 4BJ
