Artist Spotlight: Kyle Bean

PopUp Painting’s ‘artist of the week’ is Kyle Bean.

Kyle Bean is a London based artist and designer who specialises in handmade models, sets and installations. His work is extraordinarily detailed and uses a range of everyday materials and found objects ranging from paper to eggshells.

Bean has a passion for handcrafted design and tactile illustration. He creates playful, concept-driven imagery and animation for a variety of editorial and commercial projects as well as installations for fashion brands and events. The artist’s work is usually characterised by a whimsical and meticulous re-appropriation of everyday materials and handcrafted techniques. Bean is known for his witty depictions of everyday scenarios.

As well as working on smaller projects alone, Bean regularly collaborates with still life photographers and other makers.The artist was recognised as an ADC Young Gun in 2011 and his work has been featured in The Financial Times, The Guardian and Vogue. Check out the artist’s website here:
