PopUp Painting’s ‘artist of the week’, or rather, ’artist’s of the week’ are duo ‘OsGemeos’.
OsGemeos are Brazilian street artist duo Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo. The artists are identical twin brothers.
Osgemoes, meaning ‘The Twins’ in Portuguese, began their careers in the late 1980’s when hip-hop culture exploded in South America. The artists are best known for their large scale, stylised yellow figures. Subjects of these works range from hip-hop culture, family portraits, social and political commentary and Brazilian folklore.
OsGemeos’ unique style has gained the artists both national and international acclaim.
